Magnetix

After the roaring success of our themed parties of late, we
thought we’d really push the boat out for our summer party
and give you all a chance to really stretch your imagination
and an excuse to raid those fancy dress stores! Bring your
chains, gold teeth and of course your hoes boys and girls,
because it’s the Magnetix Pimps and Hoe’s Party on Friday
30th July, and it’s going to be blinging!

Our first DJ Above, head of the Diablo Traxx
Collective/Recordings. One of the busiest guys on the scene is
no stranger to rocking venues both in the UK and
internationally, so we’re very happy that we have managed to
secure his services, and we are sure you’ll all agree!

Matt Church is no stranger to the 414 having been involved
with parties and events there for well over half a decade. Now
commanding some serious respect in the Trance scene with his
Red Sky Digital label which has seen support from the biggest
names you can think of and a whole lot more, we’re happy to
have this star in the making grace the decks to show us what
he’s all about,

Our next guest is the brains behind the DHF brand
Candyman01. Luca has been about for a little over a year now
and has achieved a lot in this time, including taking DHF to
Hidden in Vauxhall and having some amazing parties, and
playing all across the country on the way. We think there’s
lots more from him to come so we’re very happy to be able to
give him his Club 414 debut.

Finally we have Shift-E, a DJ who is well known in Brighton and
London areas from running the Insurgence (and more recently)
Rebellion parties. Able to mix harder trance beats on 3 decks
whilst effortlessly scratching, the talent of this guy knows no
bounds and again, we’re glad that we are able to present
another DJ making his Club 414 debut!

But of course no Magnetix would be complete without our trio
of residents, Phil Lankester, Dean Zone, Timmy Whiz and
Lorenzo Barrero, and don’t forget you can download loads of
mixes from our past events for free from our website,
www.magnetixuk.com!

Magnetix

Spring is officially here, the days are getting warmer and longer and you wouldn’t know it, but we’re slowly creeping out of the “recession”. Now if those 3 things don’t make you want to go out and party like it’s 1999 then we don’t know what will! So without anymore fuss, brace yourself for news of the April 30th instalment of Magnetix!

We’re very proud to have none other than James Lawson headline this event. Anyone who was around back in the days of Camden Palace will testify to this mans genius, both in the studio and behind the decks, and we’re bringing him and his new Psy Trance sound to Brixton’s favourite venue, just for you!

We also have a UK Exclusive with The Sixth Sense joining us all the way from Venlo in Holland. The label manager for Nero Records has been busy very since he burst onto the scene, and with the many original Hard Trance productions and remixes behind him over the last 5 years meant that we just had to offer him his first ever UK set.

Another DJ from foreign shores will also be joining in is Pan, the main man behind Chemistry. Having rocked the Psy scene in Oz for ages he moved to London for more of the same, so we’re extremely happy to have secured his services for the evening.

We’re also very happy to announce the return of a Magnetix resident and former favourite, Mat Lock. Recently back from his worldy travels we’re sure he has plenty of tall tales to tell, but also lots of even better Trance to play, and he’ll be doing so for the first 2 hours to get things off with a bang.

Keeping things a little closer to home, our final guest of the evening will be Latex Zebra. Founder of Zoology, the 414′s longest running monthly promotion makes this man a bit of a legend in our eyes so we could hardly say no when his services became available to us.

Of course no Magnetix would be complete without our trio of residents, Phil Lankester, Dean Zone and Andy Forse, and don’t forget the free after party Rubix if you’re still wanting more come 6am. And remember, you can download loads of mixes from our past events for free from our website, www.magnetixuk.com!

Magnetix Residents Party

Fresh from 2009 with 5 storming events under our belts including a sell out Birthday Boat Party, Magnetix continues to ride a wave of success. We enter into our first event of 2010 aiming to remind our growing base of supporters what we’re all about: showcasing the very best talent from all corners of the trance world, appealing across the wide spectrum of Uplifting, Psy, Tech and Hard trance beats for the one purpose of throwing a fat party and seeking open minded music lovers to join us on Friday 29th January @ Club 414, for a celebration of laser thrashing, mind bending, foot stomping music. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Magnetix…

Jon The Baptist
Returning to join the Magnetix team for his only London residency, JTB brings with him another year’s experience of being one of the country’s top artists who is leading the charge in the snowballing European hard trance scene here in the UK. Having a plethora of his own productions under his belt to entertain a trance-hungry Magnetix crowd, Jon will show why his status in the trance scene is firmly set as he enters 2010 in full swing with an exclusive b2b set with young protégé DJ The Corbz!

Phil Lankester
You saw him here first, our very own legend in the making Phil Lankester (AKA Libra 9). After a storming year where he’s gained a further residency for Halcyon @ Matter there’s no stopping him as he prepares once again ready to unleash his fierce uplifting psy sounds onto an eager dancefloor. 2010 holds big things for Phil, so bring your best dancing shoes and hold on tight!

Dean Zone
Our in-house, mega womping, foot-stomping Euro trance maestro Dean Zone has been busy in the studio in 2009, cementing his place as a leading forerunner in the emerging UK scene. With his recent release ‘My Dreams’ signed to Electrik Shandy, he’s carving himself a sure and steady path to success as a DJ/Producer. We have every faith in Dean as his career grows stronger and his name gets out there. Put a womp on it!

Andy Forse
When Andy Forse won the Best Up-and-coming DJ trophy in last year’s HarderFaster Awards, some heathens had never heard of Magnetix’s secret psychedelic weapon. Yet slowly but surely he’s been working his way up the London dance music echelons and over 2009 he’s played for HOMmega @Matter, Party Proactive, Planet Angel, Psy-n-Tific, A.L.A.N., Freedom, Chemistry and most recently Rock’n’Rave at the Fridge. We know he keeps his best sets for his Magnetix residency and we can’t wait!

Timmy Whiz
Our ever-faithful one-man party and resident Timmy Whiz will be bringing us his take on UK hard trance. With flair behind the decks and the brightest yellow trousers you’ll ever be exposed to, Timmy exudes his passion for banging dance music from every pore in his body — seriously not to be missed!

Kevsta
Another constant in the UK hard dance scene, Kevsta is our reliable resident of ruin and rampage. He’s been around the scene long enough to learn the hard uplifting sounds you like but not long enough to get to jaded by them, as his regular sets at Refresh illustrate. He’ll be leading the party into the early hours and beyond: make sure you’re near the front!

Lorenzo ‘Tequila’ Barerro
Like a vintage liquor whose taste gets finer year on year, Lorenzo has relentlessly demonstrated an enviable consistency and never fails to bring home some of the best trance from the past and present. Once resident of Sunday hard dance institution Byte, he has certainly mellowed over the years and now favours the more euphoric sounds that make him an integral part of the Magnetix journey.

Barry Harding
Magnetix hard trance resident Barry’s moto is “Live the life you love, love the life you live” and you can feel it in his driving tune selection. Resident of Hook’d, huJe and Hectic, Harding has been hammering out the anthems long enough to know what the Magnetix faithful come to the alter of the 414 to praise. Hallelujeh for Mr Harding!

Neil Moore
A new recruit to the Magnetix camp, after pinning us down with one simply awesome demo we just had to bring this lad aboard and set him and his outrageously uplifting blend of psychedelic trance loose on the not-so-general public. His clubbing roots lie in Planet Angel and if his creativity and enthusiasm affect the dancefloor like it inspired us, then were sure you’ll be seeing this face again in the near future.

The Magnetix Promise:

Please note, we here at Magnetix are not content with just turning up, putting up set times, switching on the decks and playing some music. Oh no, it is our mission to give you, the clubber, a much more personal clubbing experience.
On the night we will be decking out Club 414 to the max. Expect psychedelic décor, vinyl give aways, free mix cd’s courtesy of our special residents for the first 50 people through the door, free Glow bands and lots more.
Couple that with the best chill out room of any club in London, dedicated club Photographers, a roof terrace for the smokers and of course, the legendary 414 café (what other club in London can you get a Cheese Toasty from?) and you’d be mad to miss out! We are also doing our best to support new talent and push new DJs. With a strictly any type of Trance music policy, we are always open to receiving demos. Just hand your demo in at the door when you arrive. All demos will be listened to by a member of the team and you will receive feedback.

And don’t forget, you can download live sets from every previous Magnetix event for FREE from our site, www.magnetixuk.com.

Puzzle Project

As we prepare to wave farewell to 2009, our unceasing mission to provide you, the clubber, with top quality acts, awe-inspiring visuals and intelligent musical progression continues. It’s naturally a time of year when we look to the future and we can promise we have some wonderful surprises in store for 2010. Our impending creative implementations will have to wait just a little longer though as we invite you to celebrate at our final party of the year with yet another stupendous line-up:

Phil Lankester – 2009 has been an incredible year for Phil, his barnstorming sets for Party Proactive and our good selves have catapulted him into the DJ’ing stratosphere. Remarkably, 2010 promises even more from the Halcyon (Matter @ o2) resident as he applies the finishing touches to his long awaited first production album. Puzzle Project is THE place to hear a few sneak previews of his personally distinctive, hypnotic brand of psychotomimetic beats!

Matt Church – Currently storming the download charts with releases such as “Can’t Buy Time”, “Feeding Dreams” and “Quake”, Puzzle Project is proud to be the party where such innovative trance gets it’s first public airing. Having now garnered support from Tiesto and Sean Tyas the Red Sky Digital supremo has vowed to continue on his quest to break new ground with all our attendee’s invited to give feedback. Thus far, the verdict has been a tale of packed dancefloors amidst much whooping, clapping and cheering!

Liam Melly – A longtime favourite guest amongst regular Puzzle Projecteer’s, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to have him back to spank the arse out of our final party of 2009! With his production work feted by no less than John O’Callaghan and Eddie Halliwell and having played for Gatecrasher alongside John Askew, Paul Van Dyk and Marcel Woods you’d better bring your hardest wearing trance groovin’ shoes with you!

Phil Reynolds – Arguably the world’s best hard trance DJ we are justifiably delighted to have Phil as a resident for Puzzle Project. You can rely on him to provide the sounds that catapulted him to international DJ’ing and production fame alongside Steve Blake, Nick Sentience and Nick Rowland.

Macloud b2b Zany – Already familiar to many a Brixton clubbing stalwart, this pairing will be finishing the night with a simple promise – “It’s gonna be dirty!” Expect them to come out with all guns blazing particularly as Zany bids farewell to the UK with her final set here and Macloud looks forward to seeing in the new year with Frantic!

Ped – Having consistently packed out his tremendously successful Psy-n-tific parties, we felt it high time we invited him back once again to Puzzle Project. The plethora of quality mixes online (available at www.dj-ped.co.uk) showcase his driving, uplifting sound perfectly but his talent for delivering to a live crowd is something which should be witnessed to be truly appreciated!

Dean Zone – The brains behind Magnetix and Frantic regular takes no prisoners with his tough, uncompromising European style. His latest release – “My Dreams” available now on Electrik Shandy and his DI.FM radio show are certain indicators his forthcoming international debut in Holland will go with a “bang”! Or should that be “whoomp”?!

Jay Coyle – On warm-up duty this month we have a man whose eclectic tastes create a sonic soundscape guaranteed to get you in the mood. Along with stablemate Liam Melly, Jay has been rocking dancefloors in Derry (and beyond) for several years. Find out why at Puzzle Project!

If you haven’t paid our beloved Club 414 a visit recently come and check out the improvements from recent refurbishments. Tight but polite security, friendly and efficient bar staff and the happiest, bounciest crowd you’re likely to encounter all within an intimate and imaginatively decorated environment all await you! And with limited advanced tickets available for only £5.00, you CAN have a fantastic night out without having to pull a pair of tights over your head and wandering into the Post Office with a loaded shotgun!
